Looks like LEX 18 ended up breaking the story anyway. Have a look.

Don’t make the mistake of (1) confusing Alan Cutler with a sports journalists and (2) confusing WLEX-TV infotainment news-amuse with serious broadcast journalism. It’s all about the ratings and the scoop, and never mind just what is actually being scooped up … or spread around.

I haven’t verified the story of Patterson committing to UK yet, but let’s put a few things together here…
1.) Would Patterson commit to a school whom he has NO idea is going to be his coach?
2.) Donovan is “relishing the moment,” because he sure isn’t going to announce a signed deal with UK, or the NBA with post-championship celebrations planned for later this week.
It’s my opinion that we won’t hear anything for a few days… People can’t post all they want about how Donovan has deep roots in Florida, but does that ever seem to matter these days? Look at coaches in the past that hopped from one big job to another, and in this case, with million$ involved, it’s a simple relocation to a state 10 hours away.
He’ll have plenty of money to take a vacation.

i saw that andy katz says that dononvan is busy for like three straight weeks with prior engagements and that kentucky would not fit into those weeks…so uk would have to wait awhile if they want donovan…also if his players stay, and it looks like most of them will, he stays…rick barnes is said to be their second choice…and lastly when you think about it, donovan was never really that good of a coach he just has four first rounders…before that he was average, i mean seriously mike miller and haslem?
