Tooling around the internets

by webmaster

Just ran across Chris Diggs’ post over at the Courier Journal. Down near the end of the post he’s talking about “some of the ignorant” parts of the Wildcat fanbase that are constantly “jumping on and off the bandwagon”.

That part isn’t actually what I wanted to talk about, that’s just the part that will light up his email inbox and the message boards. The part I wanted to discuss is where he believes we will win the next 10 to 14 games. That is a mighty brave statement. Man I hope he’s right. That’s all from me for now. Back to football. Did you see that 60 yard game winning kick against Indy? Wow.

Even in my most blindly optimistic predictions, I don’t have UK winning their next 10-14 games. We’re giving the freshman lots of quality minutes. While that may pay off at the end of the season, it makes us prone to inconsistency and losses now.

Morris showed up and played like someone worthy of a first round draft pick. I wonder how many of those teams that passed on him are second-guessing now. Crawford played his butt off to a fault. He tried to put the team on his back and made mistakes as a result. I loved his effort though, even with the turnovers. I’m a huge Ramel Bradley fan, but I put this loss squarely on his shoulders. It’s his job take control of the ball and get the offense going. He’s also one of our best offensive options and didn’t look for his shot at all in the first half.

It’s a long season folks, and too early to be getting on or off the bandwagon.
