After what is mostly regarded as disastrous transcontinental/transoceanic road trip the Cats touch home base with a 3-2 record. As always, Monday brings new rankings. Kentucky has dropped out of the top 25 in both the ESPN and AP polls. The ESPN/USA Today Poll ranks them 33rd and the AP 31st. Also something else I like to take a look at is the projected draft for next year. It’s early, but so what. Kentucky currently has no players in the mock draft over at nbadraft.net. If it makes you feel any better, Duke only has one right now. All it takes is a few good games by someone like Jasper and he could easily jump into this list.
Changes are a comin’ though Tubby says. Never fear cat fans our savior(s) are here. Perry Stevenson who had a couple of Shagari Alleyne vs Kentucky Wesleyan performances (hereafter known as the Alleyne Indication) his first two games but has shown to be a little to weak against tougher competition will be replaced with either the returning Jared Carter or Sheray Thomas. I’m not saying Stevenson is going to turn out like another Alleyne, quite the contrary. It looks like Perry could be a hell of a player with his abilities. I just wanted to find a way to introduce something to be like the Sports Guy. He’s the coolest. See you tomorrow for the pre-game.

Tubby continues to amaze all Kentucky Fans…. Not recruiting or coaching…. just players not doing what the coaching staff asks….. Three and Four star players can not compete on a consistent basis with five star recruits…. What is the problem with UK recruiting…. Why can’t UK recruit 5 star players any longer?

I just dont understand why people are still praising Orlanda “Tubby” Smith. I mean be 100% honest with yourself. Does this really look like a Kentucky team of the past? I love the Cats really I do. But I truely cant remember a time in the past when it was really disappointing consistantly to watch them play. I mean there has been times in the past when the Cats have had hard times but it seems like its only getting worse. We are no longer a team feared in the SEC, guys dont dream of playing at UK anymore. (not even country boys that grow up in the hills of eastern ky) I mean we pass up guys like Lofton that shoots our eyes out when we face him at UT. I totally agree with the comment above we’re not getting 5star recruits anymore. I dont mean to put anyone down but I really think either Tubby needs to leave or some changes need to be made in order to get some better players like the Walkers,the Delks, the McCartys,the Andersons, the list could go on and on bottom line is we dont get the caliber of players at UK that we have in the past.

Lofton cant play defense. Look at all the points he gave up against patrick sparks. As for 5 star recruits. If you look at the in coming class in the SEC next fall there is 2 5 star recruits in the whole sec class. So I guess Tubby isnt the only one with recruiting problems. He still wins more then he loses he still sells out rupp and he competes for the sec every year. Last year was the first year that he didnt share or win some type of sec championship whether it be reg. season or conference tourney. won a nc title and has been to the sweet 16 or elete every year but 3. Billy donavon before last year had been bounced in the first weekend 5 straight years. Name someone that can come in and take us farther right now.

Billy Donovan only got bounced 5 yrs straight because he was getting the kinks out of his program. At least he won his national championship with his own players and not someone elses team like Tubby did. If Tubby was any better why didnt he win a nc at Georgia or Tulsa?Anyways you wanna know who we could get to replace Tubby and take us farther right now? Well thats a no brainer that would be Bruce Pearl,Rick Pitino,Billy Donovan,Roy Williams, hell why not David Hobbs(uks assistant) he does most of the coaching now anyways. I never said Tubby wasnt a good coach I said he wasnt a recruiter and something needed to be done to get better talent. Rupp is always gonna be filled up whether Tubby is there running the shoe or Hal Mumme is coaching the mens basketball team(he probably could do just as good). Uk fans are gonna bleed blue reguardless whos coaching. Thats the love for basketball this state has. I have been watching Uk basketball since I was a kid if giving the opportunity I would have played at Uk no matter who the coach was. But as a basketball alumni of EKU I would love to see Travis Ford come in maybe not as a head coach but as maybe a recruiter or asst. coach. Maybe that would help I dont know. But UK has the money to pay a great recruiter so lets get it done I dont know if I can handle another boring season after this one. Any by the way Lofton must be doing something right he sure shot Uks eyes out last season.

tubby is already gone this is a done deal…all is doing now is auditioning, well at least attempting to, for a another program…travis ford, coach from umass is an up and comming coach…he was coach at eku when they scared uk in the tourney…he has built a competitive umass team but the most important thing is he is a former player…he knows the program and is young…as for the boring play, there is nothing really that can be done, it wouldnt be uk if it were exciting now would it…this all starts with the unis, why must they have the same unis has half of college bball
