Every single person who thinks tubby needs to be fired should shut the hell up. It is not his fault, it is the players faults. They are the ones who blow the games and if you have seen the last couple of games you would see what I’m talking about.

UK B-Ball is indeed in dire straights, There is a reason that we can not get TOP NOTCH recruits, NO TO NOTCH player wants to play for Tubby. I am so sick and tired of excuses for UK’s turn for the worse, Someone needs to step up and take blame.

Any team will have a bad year or two, But UK is in a constant state of decline and has been for several years,

Jason, WTF are you talking about? “A constant state of decline”, do you even know what you are talking about. The last two years have been extremely disappointing. Everyone knows this and that is not being debated. BUT, the 04-05 season ended at 28-6 and in the Elite 8. If you think that is a disappointing season you’re just crazy.

For me, it’s not even as much about winning and losing.

With the exception of some of the 04-05 defense, the games just aren’t very much fun to watch. The offense seems so choppy and stagnant and the players just aren’t that athletic. I certainly agree that a good defense is a must have, but watching a game that is 19-12 at halftime takes a backseat to a good nap. The only time we seem to blow a team out is when we shoot 60% from the 3-point line. It’s certainly NEVER the case that we wear a team down and beat them down the stretch like with Coach P.

I used to find that I couldn’t stand to miss a minute of the games (I went to every single home game for 2 consecutive years in 96 and 97). Now I find that I don’t mind doing other things while the game is on.

Aaron I agree, Its no fun watching your team hold the other team to 36% shooting and then only shoot 35% ourselves. We need offense to go along with the sometimes good defense.

I’ll state this again for the sake of Mr. Webmaster. Tubby has presided over the longest final four draught in UK History. We don’t hang up Elite Eight banners. Tubby has never been to a final four with a team that he’s recruited and coached entirely. The sad thing is he has 3 players on his team (Morris, Crawford, and Bradley) that would be All-Americans on any other Marques basketball team and will play in the NBA and he still can’t get to the Final Four and believe me I’d love to eat crow on that prediction. Last year you can say he had four NBA player including Rondo and lost 13 games. At the end of the 05 -06 season Tubby told us that we won’t have another season like that, he told us there’d be changes made and he was right…UK is only going to loose 12 games instead of 13…yippy. Tubby ain’t gettin’ done guys. Its time to punt and retool with a new coach.

Thank God Chris Lofton and Corey Brewer didn’t attend UK, if they did they would be sitting on the bench watching Sheray Thomas getting his 2 ppg and shooting 35% and consistent productive play of Bobby Perry. Yep Lofton would be averaging 5 mins a game and brewer would come in whenever Tubby remembers that he is on the roster. So Mr. Lofton and Mr. Brewer good moveeeeeeeeeeeee. As far as Lucas coming to UK if he is smart he will stay the hell away from Tubby. I also see a lot of coaches, especially SEC coaches singing Tubby’s praise……….duhhhhhhhh They want him around so they have better odds in beating UK or least let UK and Tubby beat themselves. UK’s storied program can all be summed up in one word— REPULSIVE ok one more word—DISGUSTING. Please give us a coach that has an IQ over 50. NOT ASKING MUCH.

Webmaster……..observing all your vast knowledge of the traditions of UK…..I think ALL CAN SEE…….Your’e the IDIOT…..You must be in that same world as TUBBY…..that winning 20 games (mostly CUP CAKES) and getting an NCAA invite is pretty impressive. Maybe at TULSA and GEORGIA that is impressive……….but at UK things are a little different…..so wipe the druel from your mouth and you move along IDIOT.
Least if Tubby does stay I can get a lot of other things done next year instead of watching UK beat themselves. Can’t wait to see a real coach (Roy Williams drain the TUB again and again and again)

My drunk uncle and his 10 year old daughter could coach UK better than Tubby is at the moment.

How many chances must we keep giving tubby before people actually say its time for a change?

He knows everybody in the nation is talking about him losing his job, and I even saw a segment on ESPN about it the other day, and he sees these things and its all getting to him for the worst. He knows he cant live up to the tradtion. If he could, he would ignore reports, and segments and al that good media stuff and suck it up and kick some ass. What does he do? The day after I see a segment about him being possibly fired, he loses to MISSISSIPPI FRICKEN STATE. who the hell is that? The pressure is getting to him. Instead of proving us all wrong, tubby is proving us all right, and all you people who support him know that. He’s probably sitting at home right now crying like his wife did on national television yesterday because he cant step up to the plate.

I don’t really care what your point of view is as you can see by looking around for the site. 3/4’s of the comments on the site are negative and I don’t agree with a lot of them, but they are always welcome to be expressed. But when someone is being outrageous (i.e., you) I call them on it.

Sorry Chad, you are wrong on this one. 12 and 13 loss seasons suck mightily. Repulsive? Ummmm, I don’t think so. Come on, be just a little bit rational. Tubby will have AT MOST one more year to turn things around. And that is all he should get. Just one more to see if he actually does make coaching staff changes, if he does land Lucas and/or Patterson.

Do you think Duke, Arizona, Michigan State, and Connecticut are having “REPULSIVE” and “DISGUSTING” seasons as well? Hell, Connecticut lost to George f’ing Mason to end the season last year and will MISS THE TOURNAMENT this year. I haven’t heard even a whisper of him being on the hot seat. Just trying to show a little contrast.

The 04-05 season, despite making the Elite 8, was a failure. This is Kentucky, this is not a school like Arkansas, or LSU, this is Kentucky!! Anything except a Final Four, is considered a failure for us!

Here’s a little fact for all you Ten Loss Tubby supporters: Did you know that when we don’t make the Final Four this year, it will be the longest the University of Kentucky has ever gone without making a Final Four (9 years). And, that includes the probation years!!!!

All of you Ten Loss Tubby supporters need to wake up and realize what he has done to our program!

You sorry, clueless clucks throwing these childish tantrums did not do one single thing to ever win a game at UK, to help win a game at UK, to create or sustain any so-called “tradition” - all you have ever done is watch. And that has been a gift.
The number of wins at UK, the tradition, the championships, the winning seasons - all of this has happened without your help or influence or contribution, and those who are paid the big bucks to help UK continue to win with honor, and no more NCAA violations, and better academics, and more equity among the different sports, and overall representation of the great Commonwealth - these people don’t give rat’s rear end about your low self esteem problems, your whining and your wonderful roundball expertise. Your complaints will not get Tubby fired, nor will they attract better recruits, nor will they put Sheray on the bench permanently or get Perry more playing time, nor make one single iota of difference to those much wiser in the ways of collegiate basketball. All they do is make the great Commonwealth look like a sorry state of spithead sucker fair-weather sloppy seconds. You make the state, the school and the program look bad. Thanks a lot. Go watch the Cards, and when the Cats get back on top, don’t come back, because you have lost any right to the name “fan.”

So, the ones who want the best for our program, and what Ten Loss replaced so we can once again be a powerhouse program has lost their right to call themselves fans? That makes sense, not. At no point during your rambling did anything you say even come close to making sense. How does wanting the best for our program (by firing Ten Loss), make us less of a fan?

You ask what planet is not making the Final Four a disgrace. I’m not saying if we don’t make a Final Four one year, it’s a disgrace. Is it a disappointment because of who we are, though? Yes!

By who’s rules is not making a Final four in nine years an embarrassment? The rules that have bet set forth by true University of Kentucky fans. Ones who know the tradition, ones who know the history, ones who know that we should NEVER go this long between a Final Four appearance.

If wanting the best for a team I live and die for every year makes me less of a fan, by you (apparently the King of UK fans), then so be it. But, you wanting Ten Loss to stay here when he no longer has us as a national powerhouse, like UK fans have become accustomed to, makes you less of a fan, in my eyes.

Ten Loss has to go if we are ever going to be considered an elite program in college basketball again, and if you can’t see that.. maybe you should go watch the Cards.

To Mr. Webmaster:

Duke, UConn, and Mich State have one thing in common; they’ve all been to the Final Four in the last 5 years. Tubby…nowhere to be found. I’m not talking about the last two year; I’m talking about Ten -Loss -Tubby. If Duke has another year like this I guarantee you’d here some complaints in DukeyLand.

I don’t know how old Mr. Webmaster or True Blue is but you obviously don’t remember the Glory Days that Tubby has extinguished.

To all the ones out here who are begging and pleading to any and all higher powers that Tubby Smith–the man who has helped to KEEP OUR TEAM OUT OF THE FINAL FOUR FOR THE LAST NINE YEARS–will be out after a second-round loss to Kansas:
Our prayers have been answered.
The University of Minnesota has graciously bought him off our hands, and Ten Loss Tubby is now a Golden Gopher.
Free at last, free at last, thank GOD ALMIGHTY, WE ARE FREE AT LAST.
May we NEVER have any more seasons as DISGRACEFUL and DISGUSTING (Yes, I will call them disgraceful and disgusting, because to a real True Blue fan, we KNOW that nine years without a Final Four appearance is not a true reflection of the glory and honor of the UK Wildcats men’s basketball team) as we have had under Tubby Smith–the man who has never coached a Final Four game with players he recruited himself.
