Just in case you new readers didn’t clue in on how we do things around here. Let me spell it out for you.
WE. DID. NOT. WANT. TO. FIRE. TUBBY.
This is not a new development, by the way. The webmaster bought firetubby.com after the 2005 NCAA Regional Finals loss. He talks about why he did it, and the aim of this site, in this About page.
Oh, we’ve been frustrated at times with the coach and the results. But in my previous post below, you can see how I feel about Tubby. Webmaster will be along shortly to sum up his experiences.
All in all, this is a pro-UK and pro-Tubby site. Has been, always will be. Anybody who believes otherwise is illiterate, or fell under the old adage of “judging a book by its cover.” Or, specifically, “judging a website by its domain name.”
Also, thank you webmaster, for letting me into this insane place. I’ll see you on the other side.
And for you regular readers, thank you for coming back here again and again and actually arguing with us. It means a lot to us that you took time out of your day to read my crappy writing and then to cut-and-paste that “Tubby Smith is the 1st Kentucky Coach” list into the comments.

so do all of these posts mean the site is going to be closed?
April 6th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
Then why didn’t you name the site tubby talk or something like that?
April 6th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
read the about page it explains that the reason he bought this domain was to keep it out of the hands of people who really did want to bash tubby.

It won’t be long till we see “Tubby Come Home” posters in the stands in Rupp … Billy G talks a tough game, but I feel for him if he can’t match Tubby’s wins within a few years. These ingrate buttheads will turn on him, too, as if they have any right to say a thing about something they know nothing about and have no right to criticize. Your new Fire Billy Dot Com site is pretty funny now, but wait till we lose to the ‘Ville and Vandy …

Billy G will do better than 10-loss Tubby. I don’t think it will take long for this to happen either…are all you Tubster Toadies gonna come back and apologize to all of us who helped him leave?

The only thing I’ll miss more than writing on this site is reading these Tubby Bashers, especially the ones who really feel deep down that they “helped” run Tubby out of town. Hilarious!

Hey, FGM!!
Of course I know I didn’t “Help” run Tubby out, but that’s the glory that’s been heaped upon all Tubby-Bashers. I was just responding in character, as expressed by you and the other tub-lovers.
From the outset of his departure, Tubster-toadies have blamed people like me. Fine. So be it. Just be sure to apologize to the tub-bashers when Billy G. hits the final 4 in a few years…
