Our long winter slumber at firetubby.com is over. I know all of you are relieved. More on this later. Since it’s been a while, I wanted to come back with a headline that would grab some attention. Fun game tonight. 87-49 Cats. The picture is a cropped version of a wallpaper from the South Carolina Athletics website. I know it’s now on my desktop how about your’s?

Congrats to the Cats for the big road victory, although the game was fairly close before Tre Kelley re-injured his knee. I have to say that i’m beginning too see a fire in these wildcats that I haven’t seen for a few years now, I’m actually enjoying it. Kentucky should win there next five games, then they face the gators, but it’s at rupp so they should also win that. Looking at the top 25 Kentucky should be around 16th, considering they have a better record than multiple teams that are ranked, including lsu and tennessee. Also from what I can see the Alaskin Assasin is a talent and Bobby Perry is not, give Ramon 25 min and im sure he scores more than 2 points!!!

hold up shooter…last time uk beat vandy was during the civil war…well at least it seems like it, 3 times in counting…also its not the gamecocks year, they will be much better next year…some of my inside sources in spurrierville say that transfer devan downy could easily best point guard in the sec from the start next year…also winning against florida wil be a tall task, and i mean TALL…hopefully 8.6oz baby jesus can help us…

hold on spooner…UK holds a 129-39 mark all time versus the dores, so the civil war statement is a little bold, however vandy has been handing it too the cats as of late…The cats will get there revenge when they head to Catville to play vandy…one more thing i’ve seen devan downy play in person a few times and although he has mediocre skills, he is 5 foot 8 if that and I know for sure that he will get dominated by a defensive minded 6 foot 6 inch Derrick Jasper, with Downeys ball hog mentallity aka Allen Iverson, I don’t know how much floor he will see in spurrierville!!!

Jasper is very good defensively but he has yet to face some one with downy’s speed…he also has increadible hops in being able to throw it down at 5 foot 8…downy has great hands and can steal it from anyone especially if they are 6 foot 6…south carolina will have no chance next year with him being their only threat…i look for kentucky to walk through the sec with it being very weak next year…also its been a while shooter, hows gramps and the family…do you still live in ireland?
January 23rd, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Spooner thanks for asking, the family is great and gramps is still getting it done on the hardwood, the Irish Development League, alhtough not getting the minutes he once did, because Patrick Sparks is now on the team. I now live in the town of Tubbercurry, next time your out here on a recruiting visit you should stop by!!!Also I agree that Jaspers ballhandling is a liability and he with his athletic ability is better suited at the 3 position…hopefully the cats can land Jai Lucus, he is a point guard out of the same mold as a downey and I really think although the cats first priority is landing a PF they need a true PG, Michael Porter would be a nice backup but anybody that thinks he can play everyday in the SEC is wrong because he is a step to slow, and Jasper once he develops his shot is not a true PG either, although I was at the VANDY game and during warmups Dwight Perry has quit the handles, If tubbs opened his eyes I think Perry could contribute, and he definatley deserves his name on his jersey especially if mark coury has a name on his.

im in complete agreement shooter, lucas would be a huge pick up…ive scouted him couple times to get him to come to my prep school…he has the scoring ability of his father but also can dish the rock…he is not very tall but the truth is sized does not matter if you can work the point and jai can def. do that…jai in my opinion could start next year because he maximizes possessions, this would mean bradley would come off the bench as a combo guard still playing significant minutes…any way its good to hear that gramps is still playing ball, he has always been a fighter even after he that incident in pawtuckett…also in your last email you said you got to see mike williams play in england…how was it and can you tell us firetubbians about his potential…thanks as always
