Looks to be weak besides the Maui Invitational. Be ironic for a Travis Ford lead UMass team to come to Lex and beat Tubby and the Cats

  2. John Says:

Weak? Indiana, Louisville,North Carolina,Umass? Give me a freaking break tubby basher. Besides you shouldnt even be worried about who they are playing since you like to bash the coach and University. Go to a UofL site or something.

  3. Troy Says:

Looks weak to me as well.. I mean Lindsey Wilson, EKU, South Carolina Upstate. I love the Cats but as a former EKU alumni GO EKU!!! But as far as Tubby I say get him the hell out before UK basketball is a part of past history in this state. And as for John above me if you are against Tubby bashing you shouldnt be on this site because TUBBY SUCKS!!!!!!!!

  4. John Says:

Troy as far as lindsey wilson and sc upstate they are pre season games so they can be weak. As for EKU it generates money into state schools. Your telling me that Indiana,Louisville,UNC,UMASS are weak teams? Plus playing in Maui? And if you look it says fire Tubby? NAHHHH so you shouldnt be on this site.

  5. Kyle Says:

Personally, I dont think its the most powerful non-conference schedule in the land, and it isn’t, but look at our team guys, its basicly a younger, middle-caliber team - and especially will be in the 06-07 season. Is a beatdown every week gonna help our confidence?

  6. Jon Says:

There are some weak teams, but you have UNC, top 5 in the country, Louisville will be better this year, UMass is on the up for sure, Indiana is always tough. Santa clara, college of charleston and Houston won’t be push-overs. Add to that the maui tournement with Georgia Tech, Memphis, DePaul, UCLA, Oklahoma, Purdue and Chaminade. Then there is the SEC this year which will be up include playing florida twice (They didn’t lose anybody). LSU, South Carolina, Alabama and Arkansas What do you guys want???? Should we play the freakin’ AP top 10 3 times a piece this year and not make the tourney? That would be great!!! With the team we have i believe it will be solid, but a bit young. This schedule will be more than tough. Anything more and and you’d be bitchin’ that we’re getting beat too much. Shut up and be a real a fan. Enjoy the game and stop critisizing everything.

  7. Greg Napier Says:

IF this is a “weak schedule”, then byGod we better WIN. With the passive attitude we had last year, Lindsey Wilson would scare me. We NEVER DID play hard last year. Argue that.

  8. Jason A Says:

Nine years ago with this schedule we’ed be going into Chapel Hill udefeated, with a 40 point average margin of victory. Number one against number two. Ashley Judd & Dicky V in the stands. Now we’ll be lucky to be 500, hoping to not get our butts handed to us. Fire Tubby? I don’t know. Who you gonna find thats a better choice right now?

  9. Andrew Says:

Our non conference schedule is not as hard as it has been in years past, however in the past UK has had a history of playing a very difficult non conference schedule. I believe the premiere games mixed in with the “cupcakes” should give our team confidence and maybe allow for us to pick up momentum going into the SEC. The way I see it is we will probably be 10-3 maybe 10-4 going into the SEC. I think it is plenty difficult for our team, maybe one of the better moves Tubby has made in awhile. The only dissappointment is the lack of quality games in Rupp. Indiana and UMass are the only non conference highlights in Rupp so that makes it kind of disappointing. Maui will be a good opportunity for the players to bond together in a fun basketball environment hopefully providing a more gelled group. I think UK has a solid nucleus returning with Morris, Crawford, Bradlley, Perry, and Thomas. Hopefully the newcomers will be ready to make an immediate impact on the court because they will basically be our bench. These new guys will have opportunities to play in the easier non conference game letting them get a good feel for playing in front of a large audience and hopefully helping them adjust to playing on a big stage. As far as firing Tubby I think he is as good as gone if he doesn’t turn this group into contenders this season. But I am also at a loss when it comes to replacing him, no names seem to jump out at me.

  10. Troy Says:

I still am sticking to my gun that our schedule is still weak. I just think if the cats are gonna get better they need a tougher schedule. If I agree with anything John says hes right when he says Florida will be great again. But make no mistake so is Tenn. a team we used to own every year. So why not try to win all the games we can because we are gonna lose more than usual. I just dont understand playing teams that arent any challenge. There are a few good teams on our schedule before SEC play but it all boils down to the main factor if Tubby was a premeir coach UK would be geting the talent to win the big games and we wouldnt be having this problem.

  11. John Says:

If you remember we used to play UNC every year but they always got the best of rick so he quit playing them. Kansas too. So tubby picks UNC up every year. And rick didnt play an extreamly hard schedule when he was here. We never played duke regular season when rick was coach. We did when tubby was here So bottom line you have to mix the schedule up and put some games in there to get the younger guys in. And how do we know that they havent tried to beef it up but ran into problems with other teams already commited.

  12. Greg Napier Says:

Don’t fire Tubby. We can’t replace him. But we can get rid of Bobby Perry.

  13. justin Says:

he just straight up SUX! the man will never take us to the final four and he cant recruit for SH*$. Go find a recruiter and an offensive coach! If we loose 1st game of the SEC tourny we should fire him!
